Why Nervous System Capacity Matters

Change asks more from your body than you might expect.

Even when a change is something you want, your nervous system still feels the uncertainty. Routines shift. Roles change. Life looks different. Your body works harder to stay steady while everything is moving around you.

When your nervous system doesn’t have much capacity, this can show up as anxiety, big emotional reactions, shutting down, or a constant feeling of pressure and overwhelm.

Nervous system capacity is how much stress, emotion, and uncertainty your body can handle before it feels like too much. When capacity is low, small things can feel big. When capacity grows, you have more space to pause, think clearly, and respond in ways that feel aligned.

Supporting your nervous system during change helps you stay grounded while things are shifting. Emotions move through more easily. Decisions feel clearer. Fear and self-doubt quiet down as your body feels more supported.

This work focuses on building that capacity over time. It helps your nervous system feel safer, more flexible, and better supported so change feels manageable and sustainable, not overwhelming.

Nervous System Regulation can help if…

  • You feel overwhelmed or on edge more often than you’d like

  • You hold back from taking on more because you’re afraid of burning out again

  • You second-guess yourself and have trouble trusting your decisions

  • You feel like you’re behind, not doing enough, or somehow missing something

  • Saying what you need or setting boundaries feels hard, even when you know you should

  • You get stuck trying to make things perfect and have trouble moving forward

  • You over-explain yourself or feel like you need to prove your worth

  • You notice the same patterns showing up again, even though your life looks different now

  • You feel like you need to maintain the image that you have it all together, but on the inside you feel like things are going to collapse at any moment

This work meets you where you are. It focuses on supporting your nervous system, helping your body release stress, and working through the patterns that show up during high-pressure seasons and life transitions. Together, we build the capacity and emotional resilience needed to move forward with more steadiness, clarity, and trust in yourself.

“I work in a high pressure, very visible role within the higher education industry. I am responsible for a large team, lead both strategic and operational efforts, and advise one of the senior-most leaders at the institution. The work is stressful, requires long hours, and there is a lot of anxiety and pressure. The EFT Tapping work that I’ve done with Sarah has supported me mentally, physically, at home, in all of my relationships, and of course at work. Despite it being demanding, I love my career, and EFT has become an important tool that helps me to show up for myself and my team in pursuit of our shared goals and mission.”

My Story

Eight months postpartum, everything unraveled.

I had spent most of my life tying my worth to what I achieved, especially at work. But now, I didn’t have the energy or desire to keep overachieving. The identity shift triggered overwhelming anxiety and a deep depression. I felt ungrounded, out of control, and alone in it.

That’s when I found EFT. For the first time, I had a tool that met me where I was—not in my thoughts, but in my body. Through consistent practice, I began regulating my nervous system and rewiring the beliefs that kept me tying my self worth to what I produced or achieved. Slowly but surely, I came back to myself, with more self-trust, clarity, and grounded confidence than I’d ever felt before.

This transformation led me to pursue a Master-Level EFT Certification so I could help other women release these same patterns and feel safe being fully seen.
